FROWN LINES

Frown lines, also known as glabellar lines, become more apparent and noticeable as the ageing process takes hold. A furrowed brow can make us look worried and stressed, even when we are not feeling this way. With our non-surgical frown line treatments, we can minimise the appearance of these lines to bring back a more youthful and refreshed look.

WHAT CAUSES FROWN LINE WRINKLE?

As we age, frown lines can develop into deep frown lines that show through even when we are not frowning. This is mainly due to the fact that the two proteins responsible for our skin’s elasticity – collagen and elastin – are produced less and less by our bodies as we get older. Skin is no longer as supple and can’t spring back into place as quickly as it once did, particularly when we have stopped frowning. This makes frown lines appear as deep-set creases and wrinkles when we are not pulling any overt facial expression. The result is a tired and worn-out look that can make us look permanently upset or angry. Too much sun exposure, natural gravity, excess facial movements and a genetic predisposition are also factors in making natural frown lines become more apparent.

HOW TO GET RID OF FROWN LINES

There are multiple non-surgical techniques that we can use to reduce frown lines across the face. One of our most popular treatments is the anti-wrinkle injection, delivered in the form of a botulinum toxin injectable. Botox injections can treat frown lines by reversibly relaxing facial muscles to smooth unwanted frown wrinkles and stop deeper lines from forming.

Administered by a fully qualified medical practitioner, botulinum toxin injections will visibly diminish frown lines but enable movement in your facial expressions to remain and avoid an unwanted frozen look. It normally takes 5-7 days for botulinum toxin frown line treatments to work.
