PRP HAIR LOSS TREATMENT
Hair thinning and hair loss affect millions of men and women and is very distressing for most people. Hair regrowth is possible with a PRP treatment depending on the stage and nature of your condition.
Platelet-rich plasma (PRP) therapy is innovative, non-invasive, non-surgical treatment for men and women experiencing hair loss, receding hairline, and miniaturised hair follicles. Follicular miniaturisation is a phenomenon when the strands of hair become thinner and thinner with the passage of time or other causes. As a result, these hair follicles stop producing thick, healthy hair, or eventually, any hair at all.

PROCEDURE FOR HAIR PRP
A small amount (i.e. 10-20ml) of blood is taken from your arm in the same way as if you were having a blood test taken by your doctor. This blood is then placed in a centrifuge and spun to separate the plasma from the other blood components. PRP is then isolated to be used as an injectable. We use the Meso injector device that makes the experience painless in comparison to traditional needles. The whole procedure will take around 30-45 minutes, including injections.
PRP therapy is very safe and continues to be used in various medical fields since the 1970s. There is no risk of allergy or rejection as the PRP is obtained from your blood and the concentrated natural growth factors are only meant for you. You may experience some swelling and slight bruising at the injection site, but this should subside within a day or two.
Please note that 3 to 6 sessions (depending on cases) per year are recommended for obtaining optimal visible results.

PRP + Mesotherapy
Mesotherapy is a hair regrowth treatment that involves injecting a specialized cocktail of vitamins and minerals directly into the scalp. This treatment aims to nourish and stimulate the hair follicle’s natural regeneration process.
The treatment involves a minimally invasive process in which a special mesotherapy hair complex containing a mixture of plant extracts, vitamins, and bioactive substances is applied through intradermal microinjections.
The combination of PRP and Mesotherapy helps to strengthen and energise the hair follicles. We recommend combining PRP and Mesotherapy for optimal results.

FAQs
What causes hair loss in women? Generally, the main cause of hair loss in women is the weakening of hair follicles. This said the reasons for this weakening differ from woman to woman but a great majority of women suffer from hair thinning that is hereditary related. More than 40% of women will experience hair loss in their lifetime. Though, there is a wide range of other factors that can cause hair loss in women, including age, stress, nutrition, illnesses, medication, lifestyle factors, hair care routines, and more.
What causes hair loss in men? For men, hair loss is also primarily hereditary. It follows a specific, progressive pattern (male pattern hair loss), a receding hairline that is triggered by the hormone dihydrotestosterone (DHT). For males, hair loss also occurs when hair follicles weaken and stop producing new hair.
PRP & Hair Restoration? So, how can PRP help with hair loss? Well, it is by the release and utilisation of growth factors that PRP stimulates follicular hair growth. additionally, PRP has alpha granules of glycogen and lysosomes. These granules and intracellular structures within the PRP release clotting and growth factors when activated. As a consequence, these help in the healing and in rejuvenation of the body’s natural repair process.
What is PRP and how does it work? For many years, Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) treatments have shown their ability to stimulate and increase growth factors activity to improve wound healing and rejuvenate human tissue. In fact, this treatment is used in many medical specialties such as sports orthopedy, dentistry, facial reconstruction, neurosurgery, dermatology, hair growth, and cosmetic and plastic surgery. PRP is an autologous treatment meaning that it comes, in this case, from your own blood.
How safe is the PRP Treatment? PRP is a very safe procedure. Indeed, as this treatment is done using your own blood, the concern for disease transmission is eliminated and minimises the chances for possible infections and other side effects. As there is almost no risk of an allergic reaction and the procedure is quick and relatively painless, PRP injection treatment has a swift recovery and long-lasting results.
Are there any side effects after PRP? Possible side effects are mild bruising, swelling around the injection sites. These are usually temporary and mild.
How Many PRP injections do I need? It depends on the individual and on the stage of your hair loss, age, hormones, and other factors, anyone can benefit from a PRP treatment, especially if related to hair or skin improvement. Usually, we recommend a course of 3 to 6 injections, administered on a monthly basis for optimal results. In addition, we also recommend a maintenance treatment every six months or once a year.
Is PRP beneficial after hair transplants? PRP is a sought-after treatment to reinforce the results of hair transplants. Therefore, if you had or planning to have hair transplants, you should consider PRP as an addition.
Which conditions will not work with PRP? In some cases, PRP will not work effectively: If you suffer from thyroid disease or lupus, PRP for Hair Loss may not be effective. The reason is that these conditions will continue to cause hair loss. Do not take blood thinners prior to the procedure (48/72 hours) People with extreme hair loss or non-existing follicles are generally not candidates for PRP hair treatments.
Post PRP treatment recommendation? We ask patients not to wash their hair for 24 hours or so after treatment. Moreover, we strongly suggest following a healthy diet, not drinking alcohol, and not smoking as long as you can as this affects the quality of your plasma (and overall health).
Can I have PRP even if I do not suffer from visible hair loss? It is actually beneficial to have PRP even if you do not notice hair thinning and excessive hair loss. The fact is that we tend to unusually lose a lot of hair without realizing it. So, when we visibly notice it that means we already lost so much hair. PRP can definitely help stimulate and nourish your hair follicles. Platelet-Rich Plasma is a safe and valuable treatment to have.
