TEAR TROUGH/UNDER EYE FILLERS
Say goodbye to tired, sunken eyes
TEAR TROUGH/UNDER EYE FILLERS
Tear troughs are the area between the lower eyelid and the upper cheek, perhaps more commonly referred to as ‘dark circles’. As part of the natural ageing process, tear troughs become heavier and deeper, developing into elongated dark shadows. The under-eye area is the most delicate area of the face, both for men and women alike. Under eye bags, dark circles and a hollowed-out look under the eyes can make you look exhausted and older than your actual age, even when you are well-rested.
tear trough fillers can improve the appearance of troublesome dark circles under the eyes. Whether due to age, genetics, tiredness or dehydration, dermal fillers diminish dark circles by administering a prescribed formulation of cosmetic gel directly into the treatment area. The hyaluronic acid tear trough injections instantly renew and brighten the area under the eyes, concealing dark shadows with added volume.
Dermal fillers are an approved under-eye treatment by the CE and the FDA. They have been safely used for a number of years on millions of patients across the world.

WHAT CAUSES DARK CIRCLES/UNDER EYE BAGS?
Darkness in the tear trough area is often genetic, and some people naturally have sunken eyes to varying degrees, which cast shadows underneath the lid.
But there are a number of other issues that can also cause dark circles and bags under the eyes. These include:
-
aging
-
poor sleep patterns
-
smoking
-
dehydration
-
UV exposure
Aging can cause sunken eyes and a dark, hollow look. Tear troughs – those dark circles under the eyes – are a result of a weakened orbital septum and a loss of plump soft tissue in the cheek area. This happens because, as we age, the pockets of fat under the eye may dissipate or drop, causing a deep separation between the under-eye area and the cheeks.
If you think your eyes look tired and worn out, even when you are well rested, eye fillers (also called tear trough fillers) may be an option for you.

WHAT ARE UNDER EYE FILLERS?
Under-eye fillers are injectable hyaluronic acid treatments that can be used to treat volume loss and dark areas underneath the eyes.
Non-surgical and minimal invasive, tear trough fillers are an effective way to treat wrinkles, the hollowed-out look under the eyes and dark circles, for a soft and natural effect.
Hyaluronic acid fillers are made of a transparent gel that mimics the natural substance that our bodies produce. They are easy to smooth, less likely to clump, and have been shown to support collagen production in the skin, which further plumps and smooths the skin over time.

HOW DOES UNDER EYE TREATMENT WORK?
Non-surgical and minimal invasive, tear trough fillers are an effective way to treat wrinkles, the hollowed-out look under the eyes and dark circles, for a soft and natural effect. The process of having a dermal filler injected is simple and straightforward. A numbing cream is applied to the area before the injections, making the procedure completely painless.
After waiting a few minutes for the numbing cream to take effect, the filler is injected with tiny needles/cannula. The entire procedure usually takes under an hour, there is no downtime or recovery period, and patients can go back to their normal activities immediately after.

AFTER THE TREATMENT
After any dermal filler procedure, clients do usually notice some swelling. This mild after effect should subside within an hour. Slight bruising may also occur, but it is very rare. Avoid wearing makeup and doing physical exercise for 24 hours following your appointment, as to reduce the risk of infection.

FAQs
How long do the results last for? Made from hyaluronic acid, which breaks down, fillers will eventually be absorbed into the skin after around 6-18 months time. Depending on the area being injected and the amount of filler used.
I’m pregnant, can I have tear trough fillers? Currently, no thorough research has been undertaken to conclude the side effect of dermal fillers in pregnant women. For this reason, we do not advise dermal filler procedures during pregnancy.
What’s the difference between Dermal Fillers and Botox? Botulinum toxin relaxes muscle movement that results in wrinkles, whilst dermal fillers smooth out wrinkles. They can be combined to achieve more effective results.
How much do Tear trough fillers cost? During your consultation we will discuss your objectives and goals for your treatment. Our doctor will then decide on how much filler is needed for desired results.
How soon will I notice results? After procedure, you can notice the difference immediately and your skin will look revitalised naturally. Although, the full effect of the fillers won't be visible until 2-4 weeks after.
Are dermal fillers reversible? Yes- we can reverse any Hyaluronic acid based filler with an enzyme called hyalase. This takes 24-48 hours to take effect. The filler is dissolved and area returns to its original state.
Does it hurt and is it safe? Most dermal fillers contain a local anaesthetic, meaning people generally find the procedure more comfortable than expected. This procedure is completely safe and you'll be in the professional hands.
Who is a good candidate for injection of dermal fillers? A good candidate for dermal fillers is one who is physically healthy, a non-smoker, and has realistic goals about improvement of appearance.
How is the dermal filler injection performed? A local anesthetic cream may be offered for comfort before the dermal filler procedure. Using several small injections, the dermal filler is placed at the desired locations for maximum aesthetic effect.

There may also be some transient redness and numbness. These symptoms may be alleviated within a couple of hours or a few days using topical ice application.
